CE Ballroom Blitz, known at home as Jimi Hendrix, is a 2026 homebred colt by World Champion Glamourdale out of CE Idonae, and full brother to CE Voodoo Child and CE UB Glamorous. The third foal from this exciting combination, Jimi continues a mating that has already produced consistently high-quality youngstock, and we are very excited to watch him develop.

CE Ballroom Blitz, known at home as Jimi Hendrix, is a 2026 homebred colt by World Champion Glamourdale out of CE Idonae. He is the full brother to CE Voodoo Child (Jimmy Nelson) and CE UB Glamorous (Cesha), making him the third foal from a combination that has already produced consistently exciting youngstock for us.

His sire, Glamourdale, is by Lord Leatherdale out of a Negro mare and has established an exceptional record at the highest level of international dressage. After becoming World Champion as a seven-year-old, he progressed to Grand Prix and, with Charlotte Fry, became double individual World Champion at Herning in 2022. His power, presence, exceptional canter and ability to collect have become defining features of his performance.

Glamourdale’s damsire, Negro, adds another generation of proven Grand Prix performance. A son of Ferro, Negro competed internationally at Grand Prix before becoming one of the most influential dressage sires of his generation. He is perhaps best known as the sire of Valegro, while Ferro himself competed internationally at Grand Prix and was an Olympic team silver medallist. This gives Jimi a paternal pedigree with proven performance running through successive generations.

Jimi’s dam, CE Idonae, brings further depth of Dutch dressage breeding. She is by UB40 out of a Junior STV mare. UB40, by Olivi out of a Michelangelo mare, is particularly well known as the sire of Apache, who competed internationally at Grand Prix with Emmelie Scholtens and represented the Netherlands at the 2018 World Equestrian Games before establishing a significant breeding legacy of his own.

Further back, Junior STV brings another valuable performance line. By Uniform out of Ennia STV, by Variant, Junior STV won the Pavo Cup as both a four- and five-year-old before progressing to international Grand Prix dressage with Anky van Grunsven. His sire, Uniform, was subsequently awarded the KWPN Preferent predicate, adding further depth to an already strongly performance-focused maternal pedigree.

What makes Jimi particularly exciting to us is not simply the pedigree on paper, but what we are beginning to see from this mating repeatedly. His older full brother, CE Voodoo Child (Jimmy Nelson), achieved Premium status at the 2025 AES Foal Grading and has been retained as a potential stallion prospect. Their full sister, CE UB Glamorous (Cesha), achieved a High Gold at the 2026 BEF Futurity, with a particularly impressive mark for her canter.

With three full siblings now on the ground, this combination is becoming particularly important within our breeding programme. Jimi has also been retained as an additional potential stallion prospect, giving us the opportunity to allow both colts to develop before making any decisions about their future. Rather than assuming either will become a breeding stallion, we want to see how they mature in terms of conformation, temperament, movement, trainability and eventually ridden performance before considering presentation for licensing.

Having two potential stallion prospects from the same successful combination is incredibly exciting for us. Jimi is still at the very beginning of his journey, but with the quality already demonstrated by his older full siblings and the depth of proven performance throughout his pedigree, we are very much looking forward to seeing what he becomes.
