Our Mares

Our mares are at the heart of the Cutting Edge Equestrian breeding programme.

While stallions often receive much of the attention in sport horse breeding, we believe the mare contributes far more than simply half of a pedigree. Her temperament, athleticism, trainability, characteristics and the qualities she consistently passes on are all important considerations when planning the next generation.

We are fortunate enough to now be working with our second generation of broodmares, allowing us to build upon the foundations established by the mares that came before them and continue developing the mare families at the heart of our programme.

Our breeding programme is built around carefully selected mare families, with the aim of producing horses suited to modern sport while retaining the qualities we value most: talent, athleticism, rideability, trainability and good character.

Each mare within our programme has been chosen for different reasons, and each brings something individual to the next generation of Cutting Edge horses.

As our breeding programme develops, we continue to invest in and build upon the mare families we believe can form the foundations of the stud for generations to come.
