CE D’Acampo’s Conviction
Gelding | Bay | To make 16.1hh
CE D’Acampo’s Conviction, known at home as Victor, is a homebred gelding by CE Jetialo IS out of Jolien MC, by Alexandro P out of a Zichem mare, and full brother to CE D’Acampo’s Joy. Combining the international dressage blood of Apache and UB40 with the established Dutch breeding behind Alexandro P, Victor has an exciting performance pedigree on both sides. He has now been sold, and we look forward to following his journey and seeing how he develops with his new owners.
CE D’Acampo’s Conviction, known at home as Victor, is by CE Jetialo IS out of Jolien MC, by Alexandro P out of a Zichem mare, making him a full brother to CE D’Acampo’s Joy. His pedigree combines modern international dressage blood with more traditional Dutch breeding, bringing together several lines that have become important within our own breeding programme.
Victor’s sire, CE Jetialo IS, was one of the stallions used during the earlier development of our breeding programme. He is by international Grand Prix stallion Apache out of an Edison mare, giving Victor considerable depth on the paternal side of his pedigree.
Apache, by UB40, developed into an international Grand Prix horse with Emmelie Scholtens and represented the Netherlands at the 2018 World Equestrian Games. Alongside his own performance career, he became an influential breeding stallion, with his offspring going on to achieve considerable success in international dressage.
Through Apache, Victor also carries the blood of UB40, by Olivi. UB40 is a line that appears elsewhere within our breeding programme through CE Idonae, making this an influence represented across several branches of our horses.
CE Jetialo IS also carries Edison through his dam, adding another established Dutch line behind Apache and giving Victor additional depth on this side of his pedigree.
Victor’s dam, Jolien MC, introduces another particularly interesting influence through Alexandro P. By Koss out of a Satelliet mare, Alexandro P comes from traditional Gelderlander breeding but has established an important reputation within dressage breeding. He was awarded the KWPN Preferent predicate, recognising the quality and achievements of his offspring.
Alexandro P progressed to Z level dressage himself, but it is through his offspring that his influence has become particularly interesting. He has produced successful dressage horses through the higher levels and has also become increasingly valuable as a broodmare sire.
Among his best-known offspring is approved stallion Henkie, ridden by Adelinde Cornelissen. Henkie represented the Netherlands at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses at five, six and seven years old, finishing within the top eight on each occasion.
Behind Alexandro P sits Koss, while his maternal family carries Satelliet, Uriant and Hoogheid, bringing traditional Gelderlander blood into Victor’s pedigree. Jolien’s dam is by Zichem, adding another generation of established Dutch breeding to the maternal family.
Victor therefore combines Apache, UB40 and Edison through CE Jetialo IS with Alexandro P, Koss and Zichem through Jolien MC. The result is an interesting mixture of modern international dressage performance and more traditional Dutch breeding.
As the full brother to CE D’Acampo’s Joy, Victor also gives us another opportunity to see how this particular combination develops across different individuals. Full siblings are particularly interesting within a breeding programme, allowing us to see which qualities are being consistently passed on while each horse still develops very much as an individual.
Victor has now been sold, and we are delighted to see another of our homebred horses beginning the next stage of his journey. We look forward to following his progress with his new owners and seeing how he develops as he matures and begins his ridden career.
