CE Adiemus is a homebred colt by Lord Leatherdale out of CE Ekurante. His breeding is particularly exciting to us, following a similar pattern to World Champion Glamourdale. Both are by Lord Leatherdale, with Glamourdale being out of a Negro mare and Adiemus out of a Warkant van ’t Gestelhof mare – Negro and Warkant van ’t Gestelhof both being sons of the legendary Ferro. With Jazz adding another influential Grand Prix dressage line through Ekurante, Adiemus has a pedigree packed with proven international performance.

A treemap chart comparing various brands, with sections in red and blue, including brands like Lord Leatherdale, Lord Loxley, Fairless P, Eureka, and others.

CE Adiemus is by Lord Leatherdale out of CE Ekurante, by Warkant van ’t Gestelhof out of a Jazz mare. His pedigree brings together some of the most established names in modern European dressage breeding, alongside an interesting depth of versatility and jumping performance through his maternal family.

His sire, Lord Leatherdale, is by Lord Loxley out of Fairless P, by Ferragamo. Lord Leatherdale competed successfully in dressage himself before becoming particularly influential through his offspring. Most notably, he is the sire of Glamourdale, as well as other successful dressage horses including Everdale and Chippendale. Lord Leatherdale’s influence has therefore become firmly established within modern international dressage breeding.

One of the aspects we find particularly exciting about Amos’ pedigree is its similarity to that of Glamourdale. Glamourdale is by Lord Leatherdale out of a Negro mare, with Negro being a son of Ferro. Adiemus is also by Lord Leatherdale, but his dam is by Warkant van ’t Gestelhof – another son of Ferro. Both pedigrees therefore combine Lord Leatherdale × a direct son of Ferro, albeit through different maternal families.

It is a particularly interesting comparison given what Glamourdale has achieved. He progressed from World Champion as a seven-year-old to international Grand Prix and in 2026 becoming double, double World Champion! This demonstrates the potential of the Lord Leatherdale/Ferro combination at the very highest level of dressage.

Amos’ damsire, Warkant van ’t Gestelhof, adds his own proven performance record. By Ferro out of Oreal van ’t Gestelhof, by Furioso Z, Warkant van ’t Gestelhof competed to Grand Prix dressage. His maternal family also contains significant jumping performance: his dam produced Turbo van ’t Gestelhof, a 1.60m showjumper, while another close relative, Gina van ’t Gestelhof, competed to 1.40m. This adds an interesting element of athletic versatility alongside the dressage performance within the pedigree.

Further back, CE Ekurante is out of a Jazz mare, adding another hugely influential Grand Prix dressage line. Jazz competed internationally at Grand Prix before establishing an exceptional breeding legacy, with his influence appearing throughout modern Dutch dressage pedigrees.

CE Adiemus therefore combines Lord Leatherdale with Warkant van ’t Gestelhof, Ferro and Jazz, bringing together generations of proven international performance. The similarity to Glamourdale’s Lord Leatherdale × Ferro-son breeding pattern makes the combination particularly exciting to us, while the additional Jazz influence and proven jumping performance within Warkant van ’t Gestelhof’s immediate family add further depth and versatility to the pedigree.
